September 17th — WeBook Publishing, a Latina-founded hybrid publisher, celebrates the launch of their new books by Brazilian authors. Known for amplifying diverse voices and connecting international authors with readers worldwide, WeBook brings to the US market Who She Think She Is? by journalist and entrepreneur Vivi Duarte, Impost-Her Syndrome by Brazilian TV host Rafa Brites, Letters to Somebody (I Used to Know) by Cris Casagrande, YA romantic comedy author, and Amor em Sagitário (Portuguese Edition) by Ana Silvani, author and founder of WeBook.
In Los Angeles, the event took place at Barnes & Noble The Grove on Saturday, September 6, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The program featured a red carpet hosted by journalist and film critic Jana Nagase, a crowd warm-up by American comedian Devyan Dumon, and an informative introduction by actress and executive producer Gabi Lopes. The panel, featuring authors Rafa Brites, Cris Casagrande, and Ana Silvani, was moderated by journalist Cleide Klock, and followed by a book signing.
In New York City, the event was held at the Consulate General of Brazil on Thursday, September 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The panel was introduced by author Larissa Rinaldi and guided by moderator Nathi Narciso. The talk opened with an inspiring panel featuring author and entrepreneur Vivi Duarte, alongside television host Rafa Brites, author and poet Cris Casagrande, and WeBook’s founder and author, Ana Silvani. Following that, a second panel featured Heloísa Garrett, Dani Santos Lang, and Rogeria Vianna for an equally thought-provoking conversation, moderated by Danielly Ortiz Luciano.

Our Authors & Their Books:

Vivi Duarte wrote a book that draws on personal experiences to provide guidance, tips, advice, explanations, and practical examples on how to stand out and thrive. It’s a guide for individuals who want to make a positive impact in their world and the lives of those around them.
“Prepare to be challenged and moved, becoming the protagonist of your life. Above all, to be called into action to develop a strong personal brand that can speed up your career. Let's go, team!” Duarte said.

Rafa Brites’ new book aims to help women recognize that this feeling of “I’m not good enough” isn’t a personal flaw—it’s a cultural pattern that we can, and should, challenge and change. Feeling like an impost-her is a common struggle that affects women everywhere.
“In this book, I talk about my experiences dealing with this syndrome and its complications. I also give you tips on how to control it instead of letting it control you,” Brites added.

Cris Casagrande explores the emotions we often leave unspoken, the memories we store away, the relationships that shape us, and the feelings that linger long after people have left our lives. She captures the quiet act of writing down what we cannot bring ourselves to say out loud.
“Some people scream their feelings; I write mine. This book is for anyone who’s ever felt something so strongly but couldn’t find the courage or the right moment to say it,” Casagrande shared.

Ana Silvani’s second book is a collection blending poetry, prose, and essayistic reflection. With the characteristic honesty of Sagittarians, she explores love in its many forms: from romantic enchantment to the ache of loss, guiding the reader through a journey of self-discovery, vulnerability, and the longing for belonging.
“I believe in love and that humans are essentially good (even when they prove otherwise). I’m a Pollyanna. I hope my writing challenges social conventions by reflecting on our contradictions and pain with courage and sensitivity,” Silvani said.
These events celebrate Latinas and Brazilian-American literature on the West and East Coasts. Guests were welcomed with a red carpet for a photo-op, and the afternoon concluded with book signings, giving readers the chance to connect personally with each author.
